While the wrestling world waits for confirmation that WWE will be going ahead with their planned Crown Jewel show in Saudi Arabia, Hulk Hogan has revealed that he'll be set to appear on it.

In the latest baffling slice of weirdness for the story that continually fells like it simply can't any weirder, alleged persona-non-grata Hulk Hogan has claimed in an interview with the Orlando Sentinel that he'll be travelling to Saudi Arabia with WWE for the event. Not only that, but that he has plans with the company involving WrestleMania.

“There are a lot of plans in the works. I’m looking forward to going to Saudi Arabia with the WWE, looking forward to WrestleMania — but yeah, we’re moving forward at a rapid pace. It’s exciting to have this opportunity again after all these years where I was there and gone.”

The event, which has caused considerable controversy for WWE, is still currently in a state of flux with the company removing all mentions of the host country and venue from their listings. Tickets are still yet to go on sale in the country, and it's believed that alternative venues have been contacted for a last-minute switch back to the US.

Reports this evening were that WWE had successfully secured a venue in Albany, New York, but at time of print these remain unconfirmed.

Hogan hasn't been seen on WWE programming since his contracted was terminated on July 24, 2015, following the release of a radio interview in which he was heard using racial slurs. The company had intimated that it would be open to his return, and in July of this year reinstated him to the Hall of Fame.
