ICW's Fear & Loathing: 10 Reasons To Be Excited
ICW are looking to raise the bar once again as they take Fear & Loathing to the Hydro.
Unless you have been living under a rock listening to death metal, you are probably aware that British wrestling is currently killing it. Every year sees the local scene grow that little bit larger and both the companies and the talent are giving their American counterparts a run for their money.
So, bearing that in mind, it maybe shouldn't be too much of a surprise that in a month where WWE will give us Survivor Series and NXT put on TakeOver: Toronto that neither of those events is the most exciting thing to happen in wrestling.
No, to find the most interesting thing in wrestling you have to head up to Scotland and into the Asylum to find those crazy lads off the telly from ICW. A year after selling out the SECC, ICW has raised the bar again and moved next door into the Hydro for Fear and Loathing IX, and trust us when we say this is one that you are not going to want to miss.
10. Finn Bálor
With Mick Foley becoming General Manager of Raw, there was always the chance that he wasn't going to be able to make his way to Scotland for Fear & Loathing. However, being the gent that he is, Foley didn't leave ICW hanging, and he has supplied a suitable replacement: Finn Bálor.
Not only is Finn Bálor one of the best wrestlers in the world but he also has a history with ICW that will make this moment special. WWE could have agreed to send any old American talent over to play around in the UK for a few days, but they sent someone who fit the role perfectly. Bálor has a home in ICW, and the pop when his music hits is bound to be incredible.
Sure, Finn isn’t going to be able to wrestle at Fear & Loathing, and he probably won’t even be able to get involved, but that doesn’t matter. What’s important is that if you want to see Finn Bálor outside of the constricts of WWE in the next few years, this may well be your last chance.
