IMPACT Wrestling Interested In Chelsea Green?
Green previously wrestled for IMPACT as Laurel Van Ness from 2016 to 2018.
IMPACT Wrestling has entered contract talks with Chelsea Green over a potential return to the promotion.
This is according to Dave Meltzer in this week's edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. He notes what while the two parties had spoken over the past week, though there's no word on whether or not an agreement has been reached.
Green is currently a free agent after being let go from WWE alongside the likes of Samoa Joe, Mickie James, and The IIconics on 15 April, with "budget cuts" cited as the official reason. A standard 90-day non-compete clause prevents her from signing elsewhere until mid-July.
The 30-year-old was one of several non-IMPACT wrestlers featured in a Slammiversary hype video at Rebellion 2021 last month. That the pay-per-view goes down on 17 July means the ex-WWE wrestlers let go on 15 April should theoretically be able to show up.
Green already has one TNA/IMPACT Wrestling run under her belt, having worked for the promotion as Chelsea and later Laurel Van Ness between 2016 and 2018. The former Knockouts Champion was granted her release after television tapings in January 2018 and signed with WWE that August.
