IMPACT Wrestling Planning Major Push For New Star? (SPOILERS)
News on a major upcoming IMPACT push, including SPOILERS from recent TV tapings.
IMPACT Wrestling is set to give one of its fast-rising stars what has been described as a "significant push" this summer.
Per Fightful Select, people within the Anthem-helmed promotion are very happy with Steve Maclin's performances since joining the company. Now, he is set to enjoy a big surge up the card.
Maclin became a free agent in February 2021. Released by WWE, where he had worked as Steve Cutler since 2014, he sat out his 90-day non-compete clause and eventually signed for IMPACT in June, adopting Punisher-inspired aesthetics as part of his new solo character. The 34-year-old has only risen in prominence since then, going undefeated in singles competition before finally losing to X-Division Champion Trey Miguel at Hard to Kill 2022 (8 January).
2022 has yielded well-received Maclin matches with the likes of Miguel, Jonathan Gresham, Alex Shelley, and more already. At Rebellion this past weekend, the former Forgotten Son scored a significant victory in a three-way with Chris Sabin and Jay White.
Per IMPACT Asylum, Sunday's IMPACT tapings in Poughkeepsie, New York saw Maclin lose to New Japan Pro Wrestling star Tomohiro Ishii.
