Impact Wrestling Will Cover All Talent's Hotel Expenses

Promotion will ease travel burden for roster going forward.

Despite being apparently skint, Impact Wrestling is nevertheless set to offer all their talent paid hotel expenses going forward.

Multiple sources confirmed to PWInsider that the company, which had previously covered hotel costs during trips to Mexico but not for domestic shows in North America, has been working on the perk as a reward for the roster. According to the report, this is the first time since Anthem's takeover that part or all of the talent's travel expenses have been covered by their employer.

The issue of paid expenses within the industry became a hot topic in June, when Bayley caused Fair Game's Kristine Leahy's jaw to hit the floor after she revealed WWE's so-called 'superstars' were expected to cover their own travel expenses. Ryback was one of a number of the company's ex-stars to blast his parsimonious paymasters after leaving the company in 2016, noting that WWE still didn't cough up for hotels, out of keeping with the rest of the industry.

As far back as 1998, WCW paid full travel expenses for all their talent. WWE has always traded on the assumption that the opportunity is worth the added cost, whereas independents need to bend over backwards to secure stars.

Either way, it's a move that'll earn Impact a lot of credit - especially as their monetary credit is so stretched.
