Indie Standout Lee Moriarty Signs With AEW
Tony Khan just locked down one of the independent wrestling scene's brightest stars.
All Elite Wrestling's signing spree continued last night, as Lee Moriarty became the latest wrestler to join the promotion's growing roster.
Moriarty, 27, was wrestling Daniel Garcia in a match taped for Dark: Elevation during last night's AEW event in Cincinnati, Ohio. Though he ended up losing the match, Lee was met by AEW founder and owner Tony Khan, who came out of the stage and extended a contract offer in front of the live crowd. Moriarty accepted - and now he is #AllElite.
The Garcia match was Moriarty's third under AEW's banner. He has previously lost Dark matches to Joey Janela and Dante Martin, having appeared on separate tapings in August and September.
Moriarty has risen in prominence as one of the independent scene's brightest stars over the past couple of years, having built his reputation through his work for such groups as GCW and the IWTV umbrella of promotions. He has shone particularly strongly in 2021, working acclaimed bouts with Wheeler YUTA, Lio Rush, AJ Gray, and many more, earning his spot in a major promotion such as AEW.
Lee joins fellow newcomers Bryan Danielson, Ruby Soho, and Adam Cole as one of AEW's latest signings.
