Injured AEW Star "One Step Closer To Being Cleared"

The former NWA Women's World Champion is already walking after her latest knee issue.

All Elite Wrestling's Serena Deeb is back on her feet after confirming her latest knee injury a few weeks ago.

A cutting heel promo similar to the one she aimed at AEW women's roster on 31 July saw the former NWA Women's World Champion stand up from her wheelchair, declaring herself "one step closer to being cleared."

"I don't even need my knee brace anymore," Deeb said, removing that which had been strapped around her leg in the previous promo. Another in-character diatribe followed, with Serena playing the bitter veteran, ripping the division's perceived lack of dedication, then declaring herself 'The Professor of Professional Wrestling' once again.

There's currently no word on how long Serena will be sidelined for, but her being on the road to recovery is good for AEW as a whole.

Deeb has been with AEW since September 2020. Defeating Thunder Rosa to become NWA Women's Champion on a UWN show that October, she defended the strap several times on AEW television before dropping it to Kamille this June, having just returned from her first knee injury of the year. Fingers crossed her latest spell on the sidelines clears any lingering issues up.
