Injured Star Expected To Return To Action For AEW Collision

This hugely talented star should be cleared for action near the launch of AEW Collision.

With AEW Collision now confirmed to premiere on Saturday 17 June, it looks as if Andrade El Idolo will be making his in-ring return to coincide with the launch of this new show.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via WrestlingNews.co), Dave Meltzer noted how Andrade is expected to be "ready" for Collision's premiere episode or "within a month" of that show's debut.

For El Idolo, he's been out of action since September, with his most recent match being the Casino Ladder offering at All Out last year. Andrade was sent home the following month due to a backstage fight with Sammy Guevara, and the former NXT Champion has since undergone surgery for a torn pec.

That surgery is believed to have taken place in November, with the typical recovery time for such an injury lining up nicely with Collision's premiere date.

While Andrade El Idolo was one of those - alongside MJF, Thunder Rosa, Miro, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, Orange Cassidy, House of Black, and FTR - featured on the initial promotional material for AEW Collision, the star himself has taken to Twitter to note how he had "no idea" that he would be returning as part of Collision.

Of course, in addition to those aforementioned names, CM Punk is also expected to be a headline attraction for AEW's upcoming new Saturday show.
