Is Brandi Rhodes Heading Back To WWE With Cody?

Backstage update on Brandi Rhodes' future following her and Cody's split from AEW.

Cody Brandi Rhodes
AEW

Brandi Rhodes isn't expected to join husband Cody in WWE following the power couple's departures from AEW, reports Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso.

The duo officially split from the promotion they helped form in 2019 earlier this week. Cody had technically been working without a contract since December 2021, when his original deal expired, while Brandi had continued in her role as chief brand officer, as a wrestler, and in other functions and well, including an important spot in AEW's community outreach program.

But despite Rhodes leaving AEW at the same time, it doesn't look like Brandi will be by Cody's side if, as expected, he returns to WWE.

Brandi had indicated a desire to keep her in-ring career going when speaking with SI two weeks ago. Those opportunities will have to come outside of the world's two leading promotions, it seems.

Returning to the AEW ring in December 2021, Brandi had racked up four consecutive televised wins on Dark and Dark: Elevation recently. A 2 February segment with American Top Team's Dan Lambert and Paige VanZant appeared to be setting Rhodes up for a feud with the latter, though this didn't go beyond their initial brawl prior to Brandi and Cody leaving the company.
