Jim Ross has revealed that his current contract with AEW runs out at some point this month, but the iconic wrestling announcer is hopeful that Tony Khan wants to thrash out new terms and keep him around a while longer.

That isn't JR's decision to make though.

He told fans tuning into his 'Grilling JR' podcast that he's "just proud to be here". "Here" isn't necessarily exclusive to All Elite Wrestling - Jim has long expressed his love for being involved in the pro wrestling biz generally, and said he'd do more autograph events on the fan signing circuit if AEW didn't keep him on.

The 71 year old acknowledged his age and health issues, but added: "I feel like my work is pretty decent right now. My voice is strong. I don’t want to sit at home". That last part says everything about the man. JR wants to work, and he likes keeping busy when possible.

However, there's obviously a very-real possibility that this is it for a man roundly considered the best wrestling play-by-play man in history. Over to you and AEW, Tony Khan.
