WWE not short of options for Jade Cargill's attacker angle ahead of return.

Jade Cargill has reportedly been training at the WWE Performance Center ahead of her return.

PWInsider has reported as much, stating that in her time away from the ring, Jade has been travelling and working on other, non-WWE projects. The outlet states that Cargill is not injured despite reports to the contrary.

Cargill's injury status has been the subject of conflicting reports since her 22 November write-off angle. On the 16 December Wrestling Observer Live show, Bryan Alvarez claimed:

"I don't care what you read online, okay? Jade Cargill is injured, it's serious, and I don't know when she is going to be back."

In the previous week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Alvarez's colleague, Dave Meltzer, wrote that although several people within WWE had claimed she was injured, the situation was surrounded by ambiguity:

"In recent weeks we've had multiple people internally say she's injured, as is the angle, and others who weren't sure, later said she was injured while others say she isn't. We've gotten and seen reports from people internally who have said 100 percent she's injured factually and others who say the opposite. Literally whatever it is, there are multiple people being told different things although those at the highest level are saying injured. I got a pretty detailed description from someone high on the food chain of what happened and they said that she is absolutely injured ... Nobody seems to understand why the other story of what they 'know' is going around."

Meanwhile, on 5 December, Fightful Select reported:

"We don’t have information on a timetable regarding Jade Cargill’s return, but internally, she was listed on the injured list. Those that we’ve spoken to say that she claims that she’s injured, but we’ve not heard specifics on the actual injury."

PWInsider's Mike Johnson has always maintained, however, that Cargill is not injured. On 28 November, he stated that Cargill's write-off angle was "all storyline, nothing more", and that WWE announced Jade was injured to put over the angle's severity.

WWE Considering Two Options For Jade Cargill's Attacker

WWE wrote Jade Cargill off with a mystery attack angle on the 22 November episode of SmackDown. The then-Women's Tag Team Champion was found laid out across a car backstage, the windscreen broken beneath her and blood across her face.

Afterwards, WWE announced Jade had suffered several injuries:

"After suffering a mysterious attack on SmackDown, WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Jade Cargill has been diagnosed with numerous injuries including deep lumbar paraspinal muscle contusions, a bruised kidney, a sprained MCL in her right knee, a tibial plateau bone bruise of her right knee, and facial lacerations."

But while the conflicting reports make it difficult to tell if Cargill is really injured, PWInsider's latest report states that two different pitches have been made for the attacker's reveal. The subjects of those pitches weren't named, though Jade's tag team partner, Bianca Belair, fellow 'Big Three' ally Naomi, and Bayley have all been speculated online.

Cargill and Belair are technically still WWE's Women's Tag Team Champions, with Naomi substituting for Jade in her absence.
