Jake Roberts Pitched This CRAZY WWE Character

Vince McMahon said no to Jake Roberts' big pitch for someone else in WWE.

Jake Roberts has revealed that he once pitched a brand new character for Jim Neidhart that baffled Vince McMahon.

The wrestling legend told listeners on his podcast that he thought turning Neidhart into "The Mole" would be a fabulous idea - Roberts didn't disclose exactly when he pitched this, but there's a chance it happened during his time as a creative consultant-meets-active wrestler in the mid-1990s.

According to Jake, "The Mole" would've been a simple concept. Jim's new guise would have lived underneath the ring and only agreed to come out when the arena lights were turned right off. Following that nightly announcement, Neidhart would enter the ring under the cover of darkness and beat the hell out of opponents.

This is where it gets a little confusing.

Roberts said that the lights would come back on and Neidhart's "Mole" would have the clear advantage. However, if he was sensitive to light then...yeah, maybe it's best to leave that one alone. McMahon thought so too, because he knocked the pitch back and didn't think it'd work.

Maybe AEW/Tony Khan would be interested in "The Mole". OK, probably not!
