Jeff Jarrett's Big Announcement Revealed As He Debuts New Promotion

Jeff Jarrett's much hyped big announcement is a new wrestling group under the name of Global Force Wrestling. The news was revealed via SB nation, with Jarrett promising to make the group into the number 2 wrestling company. The GFW brand mission statement concerns itself with listening to fans and drawing from a global base of 400 performers. There will be more announcements in the coming weeks and Jarrett is promoting the group with the hashtag #ItsComing. Jarrett goes on to predict we are entering a new pro-wrestling industry boom, "Because of new media, new technology and more 'in-tune' fans than we've ever had, wrestling is poised for another boom like it experienced in the mid-1980s and late 1990s. "What we're going to deliver is a multi-platform, innovative brand that will engage fans in ways they've never experienced. It will provide a fresh perspective inside the business that fans have been clamouring for." In analysing this development, all Jeff has really done is state a name with a basic looking logo. The news was hyped up to be something much bigger, but in reality, this is little more than superficial hyperbole. The name itself isn't great and Jarrett clearly has nothing concrete in place. His assertions of another wrestling boom also seem misguided, sure WWE are doing well, but they're a huge corporate empire. Actual wrestling focused promotions aren't doing well at all and TNA is teetering on collapse. While rumours of Jarrett signing Kurt Angle could give GFW some buoyancy, it's hard to imagine this will turn into anything more than a pro-wrestling vanity project.
