Iconic wrestling commentator and current AEW announcer Jim Ross has called Collision's backstage atmosphere "a lot calmer" than Dynamite's.

JR told listeners via his 'Grilling JR' podcast that there's a noticeable difference with the crew and wrestlers on Saturday nights at Collision. Why? Well, Ross believes it has something to do with the fact "talents have more time to work their matches out" than they do on Wednesdays.

Collision has become known for longer matches already - it's even more in-ring focused than All Elite's flagship, which already featured a ton of wrestling. That's something JR is fond of, and he likes being able to see younger workers spread their wings and gain confidence inside the ring.

He's proud of what Tony Khan has achieved by launching a new show, and reckons fresh talent trying to take "ownership" of it will only help Collision differentiate itself from Dynamite in the long run. It's also interesting to learn that things are much "calmer" behind the curtain on Saturdays than they are on Wednesday nights.

JR is still officially part of the show's commentary squad alongside Kevin Kelly and Nigel McGuinness, but has been battling some major health issues lately.
