As he continues to recover from brain surgery, the legendary Jim Ross has provided fans with a health update.

Speaking on the latest edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim says that, from his heaviest weight, he's managed to lose 50 lbs, and that he has healthcare nurses who visit him twice a week to check his vitals, blood sugar, and blood pressure. The AEW commentator also said that a wound on his left ankle from skin cancer and 22 radiation treatments has still not healed, and these nurses dress it during their visits. As Jim put it, "it's looking better, but it's not healed."

Ross detailed his current cravings for sugar, but that he's doing his best to keep an eye on his blood sugar, including finishing eating for the day by 6 pm and working on his portion control. Unfortunately, two broken toes on his left foot have been impacting Jim's physical therapy and his balance, though he promises to be "right back in the saddle" once those toes have healed up.

It's been a rough few years for Jim Ross, diagnosed with skin cancer in 2021, colon cancer in 2025, and has had several falls and surgeries across these past few years. Thankfully, Jim has overcome those battles, and his latest spell in hospital - back in August - was to remove excess fluid on the brain in order to combat balance and memory issues.

As ever, all the best to Jim Ross from all of us here at WhatCulture Wrestling.
