John Cena won't be inducted as part of the WWE Hall Of Fame class of 2026, according to a fresh report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select. It's been reported that none other than Stephanie McMahon (who was announced back in September last year) is likely to go in as the headline inductee this year, but there should be another "Immortal Moments" induction as well.

Most predicted that Cena was a shoe-in for the HOF this year after retiring from active in-ring wrestling back at Saturday Night's Main Event on 13 December 2025. There, John memorably smiled before tapping out whilst locked in a Gunther submission - the 'Ring General' has since gone on to retire AJ Styles at Royal Rumble over in Saudi Arabia, and had previously sent Goldberg out to pasture before beating Cena too.

Chris Jericho was another who'd been tossed around amongst fans and critics as a possible Hall Of Fame focal point, but things have gone fairly quiet on his expected jump from AEW to WWE. 'Y2J' obviously didn't show up at the Rumble, and time is quickly running out to get him in the door, line up HOF and then settle what he'd be doing at WrestleMania 42.

As for Cena, it looks like he's set to miss out on one of those rings this year. It's inevitable that JC will get inducted at some point, but 2026 doesn't seem to be his year. 2027? It's possible. WWE could even announce that well in advance. That's how big a star Cena is.
