John Cena Returning To WWE Next Month
John Cena will be back on WWE programming in just a couple of weeks.
Having made a brief video appearance on last week's SmackDown, John Cena is returning to WWE next month.
As per Ryan Satin of FOX Sports, Cena will appear on the 1 September episode of SmackDown from Hershey, Pennsylvania's Giant Center. The 16-time World Champion will also be a part of WWE's upcoming trip to India for their Superstar Spectacle event on 8 September.
There's no word yet on whether Cena will stick around after Superstar Spectacle, and it's likewise not known yet whether or not Big Match John will be wrestling as part of this latest return into the fold.
As alluded to, Cena appeared on this past Friday's SmackDown as part of the video tributes celebrating the career of one of Massachusetts native's greatest rivals, Edge. Prior to that, the Peacemaker star was last seen at Money in the Bank back in July, where he made a surprise appearance to tease the idea of a future WrestleMania taking place from the United Kingdom - in addition to laying out Grayson Waller with the Attitude Adjustment.
Where it pertains to in-ring competition, the last time John Cena laced 'em up was at WrestleMania 39, where he lost to then-United States Champion Austin Theory in 11 minutes.
