John Cena Tried To Bury Alex Riley And Get Him Fired?

Allegations of backstage bullying from Tyler Reks.

Former WWE wrestler Tyler Reks took part in a Reddit A.M.A. (Ask Me Anything) session recently, and an interesting story concerning John Cena came out during the chat. Reks has long been outspoken concerning his disdain for the 15-time WWE World Champion. According to Reks, he had to change his finisher while working for WWE because it was too much like Cena's. Reks' finisher at the time was called The Burning Hammer, and according to Reks, Cena took issue with him using it. The story that came out on Reddit, though, concerned Cena's interactions with another WWE performer: Alex Riley. According to Reks, Cena really had it out for Riley in the locker room for a long period of time. Nobody seemed to know the root of the feud. According to Reks:
€œThere is truth that there was some sort of unknown, unreasonable heat between Riley and Cena. To the point where everyone on the roster thought that Cena was treating him in a way that was totally uncalled for. No one approached Cena about it, but the entire locker room was on Riley€™s side, a lot of condolences, and this is €˜ridiculous, bro,€™ and it was every freakin€™ day. Cena thought Riley did something wrong every single day."
According to Reks, the treatment from Cena toward Riley included verbal abuse, as well some privacy violations in an attempt to allegedly get Riley fired.
€œLike, it€™s completely against the wrestler code to ever go through another wrestler€™s bag. One day, Riley walked into an empty locker room and Cena was just going through his bag. He found some pre-workout vitamins and b€”hed him out for taking supplements, asking if he €˜thinks this is ok.€™ Like, he was looking for a reason to get him fired."
Reks also recanted a story where Cena served as an agent for a six-man tag team match involving Reks, Riley, and others. Following the match, Cena allegedly dressed-down Riley in front of the most of the locker room.
€œWe had the match when Linda was running for Congress for the Stand Up For WWE charityshows, and it was a tag match, I think it was a six man tag match if I remember right. And it was me, Hawkins, and Ziggler vs. Riley, and two other baby faces. Cena had made it clear that he wanted Riley to act a certain way and do certain things. And we structured the entire match to his wishes and it went flawlessly as far as we were concerned. The second we walked backstage he came up to me and said €˜hey where€™s numbnuts?€™ And he sees the look on my face and tells me to go get Riley. So all six of us came back and he b€”hed out Riley in front of the backstage roster €” about how he always tells him to do one thing and he does another, and Cena was €˜washing his hands of helping him.€™ Even Ziggler was stunned."
Riley is still employed by WWE, spending most of his time these days working at NXT in Florida.
