WWE free agent John Cena is heading to SmackDown tonight, and according to PostWrestling.com, he's set for a big confrontation with Shinsuke Nakamura.

Pinned halfway through Sunday's Elimination Chamber match, Cena was despondent on last night's Raw. He admitted his own failure, and spoke of earning a WrestleMania 34 opportunity, with the the long-teased Undertaker match seemingly off the table, John admitted he was running out of options.

Thus, he announced his decision to go to SmackDown, where he'll attempt to earn a spot on the biggest show of the year, which Post suggest will lead to a bout between him and Shinsuke Nakamura at Fastlane (March 11th).

It's thought that Cena will wrestle the 2018 Royal Rumble winner for an opportunity to join his mooted WWE Championship match with AJ Styles, turning it into a Triple Threat. There's no word on whether or not this will actually come to fruition, but it'd likely upset fans who've been anticipating Nakamura vs. Styles from the moment both signed.

With footage of 'The Deadman' training recently hitting the internet, Cena vs. Undertaker could still be on the cards if 'Big Match John' loses to Nakamura, but we'll find out more on SmackDown.
