Johnny Gargano will be in Chicago for the co-promoted AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door event...sort of.

Former WWE NXT star Gargano posted hype for a personal fan signing appearance on his official Twitter page. Then, 'Johnny Wrestling' moved quickly to squash rumours that he'd be showing up on Tony Khan's pay-per-view later than evening.

Gargano said: "I promise you this is ridiculously coincidental and has been booked for months. I'll only be in Chicago for like 8 hours!".

The wrestler then went on to acknowledge that he was probably fighting a losing battle by trying to convince rumour mongers than he won't be on AEW's show; "I also realise in saying this that only like 5% of you are going to believe I'm actually telling the truth!".

Gargano closed that tweet with a laughing face emoji.

Johnny will be signing autographs for The Chicago Card Show on Saturday and Sunday. According to the man himself, he'll be gone by the time Forbidden Door starts later than evening. Regardless, countless fans commented on his tweet to say they expect to see him on the pay-per-view.

Ooh, the suspense!
