Kane will return to WWE SmackDown this week, a WWE.com writeup has confirmed.

The former WWE Champion and surefire Hall-of-Famer hasn't been seen on WWE television since the 16 September 2019 episode of Raw. That night saw him and R-Truth farting around with the 24/7 Championship in and around Knoxville, Tennessee's Neyland Stadium, with the Mayor of Knox County pinning Truth to take the belt before losing it as soon as they returned to the arena.

Later, Mayor Glenn Jacobs donned his mask and red-and-black attire to save Seth Rollins from a gang of heels, before The Fiend put him in the dirt.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the WWE.com writeup teases Kane's involvement in the upcoming Royal Rumble (26 January). "'The Big Red Machine' has competed in more Royal Rumble matches and has more eliminations than any Superstar in WWE history," it says, "and with that match on the horizon, could Kane be ready to make history once again?"

An interesting little tease as one would assume a Kane appearance in the Royal Rumble would draw a bigger pop if it went unannounced. Regardless, we'll find out what the big man has to say on Friday night.
