Last night's WWE NXT saw Keith Lee announce his decision to vacate the black-and-gold brand's North American Championship.

'The Limitless One' stated that he didn't want to remove opportunities for other NXT roster members by holding both men's singles titles at the same time, having captured the NXT Championship by defeating the long-reigning Adam Cole at Bash at the Beach two weeks ago. He wants his colleagues to have the same chances he had, and thus, the strap is now vacant.

This was followed by William Regal's announcement that the new North American Champion would be determined in a ladder match. This goes down at TakeOver XXX on 22 August, the night before SummerSlam, and Bronson Reed has already qualified, winning a Triple Threat with Johnny Gargano and Roderick Strong last night.

Another Triple Threat qualifier has been confirmed for next week, with Dexter Lumis, Finn Balor, and Timothy Thatcher taking part.

Lee had been NXT North American Champion since defeating Strong on the show's 22 January episode. An excellent reign saw him mound successful defences against the likes of Dominik Dijakovic, Cameron Grimes, Damian Priest, Finn Balor, and Johnny Gargano.
