Kevin Owens Loved His Feud With John Cena

Owens says your wrong if you criticized the outcomes of the three matches.

Kevin Owens made a major splash on the wrestling scene when he was brought up from NXT to the main roster to face John Cena in his very first match. That match, which took place at Elimination Chamber, had Owens defeating Cena clean. There couldn't have been a better way for a debut to play out. Owens and Cena went on to have two more encounters on pay per view following their initial match, and Cena gained the victory in both of those rematches. All three matches were excellent performances, but many fans and writers alike criticized the fact that Cena won two out of the three matches. Owens had a homecoming of sorts on Friday evening, wrestling in front of his hometown crowd in Montreal, Canada. Slam Sports sat down with him for an interview, and Owens gave his thoughts on his feud with Cena.
€œIt definitely helped me working with Cena and anybody who thinks the opposite is delusional. When you worked with him on Raw and on PPV, how this can be bad? Whatever people said about me losing two matches out of three, at the end of the year, fans will remember the quality of the matches and how great these matches were way more than who won and who lost.€
Owens will be taking on Ryback for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Sunday's Night Of Champions event. Though Owens is a former NXT Champion, this could be the first time he achieves gold on the main roster. With Ryback's Intercontinental reign seemingly running out of steam, it would seem a good bet that Owens may walk out of Houston with a WWE championship belt around his waist.
