Kevin Owens Vs. Seth Rollins Announced As WWE Clash Of Champions 2016 Main Event
But Roman Reigns may still factor in...
On Monday's Raw, General Manager Mick Foley announced that Kevin Owens will defend the WWE Universal Title against Seth Rollins at Clash of Champions.
Owens, who won the championship on last week's episode of Raw when Triple H made a surprise return and attacked Seth Rollins, started Monday's broadcast with a celebration of his victory. When Seth Rollins interrupted Owens, turning babyface in the process, Commissioner Stephanie McMahon tried to suspend him, but Foley overruled her decision and booked the title match for Raw's first single-brand Pay-Per-View.
Later in the evening, though, the structure of the match was put in jeopardy. In Raw's main event, Owens defeated archrival Sami Zayn, but after the bout, he was interrupted by Roman Reigns (who was also attacked by HHH last week). Foley once again made a huge announcement, booking a non-title match for next week's Raw pitting Reigns against Owens. If Reigns can defeat the Universal Champion, then he'll be added to the title match at Clash of Champions.
Clash of Champions airs live on the WWE Network on Sunday, September 25 at 8:00 PM ET. Also announced for the show are WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day versus The Club and WWE Women's Champion Charlotte versus Sasha Banks.
