Kofi Kingston Replaces The Miz In WWE Title Elimination Chamber 2021 Match
Kofi Kingston beat The Miz to take his Elimination Chamber 2021 spot on Raw.
16 months after dropping the belt to Brock Lesnar in their seven-second SmackDown squash, Kofi Kingston is finally getting another shot at the WWE Championship.
The New Day man will take The Miz's spot in this Sunday's WWE Title Elimination Chamber match, where he meets Jeff Hardy, AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Sheamus, and current champion Drew McIntyre. Kingston hasn't wrestled for the gold since his 180-day reign came to an end by Lesnar's hand in October 2019.
Kofi earned the shot by beating previous participant The Miz one-on-one. This came following the night's opening segment, in which Miz removed himself from the Elimination Chamber, leading to Adam Pearce putting the Kofi match together. It was stipulated that if Kofi won, he'd be added to the match. If he lost, The Miz's tag team partner, John Morrison, would hop in instead.
Kingston ended up beating Miz via Trouble in Paradise. He competed in a gauntlet match to determine who'll enter the Elimination Chamber last later in the evening, but AJ Styles eliminated him at the first stage. Curiously, there was no sign of Morrison all night long.
Miz still has a guaranteed WWE Title shot via his Money in the Bank contract.
