Kurt Angle Potentially Wrestling For WWE In 2017?
The Olympic Hero could be set for a limited wrestling schedule post-WrestleMania.
According to the Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer, fans may not have to wait long to see Kurt Angle competing inside a WWE ring again.
The details are unclear at the moment, but the current plan is for Angle to wrestle sporadically following his Hall Of Fame induction on April 1st, though a full-time wrestling schedule is out of the question.
Angle's status has been the subject of much speculation since his induction was announced in January. As the Class Of 2017's headliner, Angle's only guaranteed appearance is the Hall Of Fame ceremony itself, but he has remained active in the ring since leaving TNA in 2016.
Furthermore, Angle's name was brought-up as a potential replacement for outgoing Raw General Manager Mick Foley last week. Foley is set to take some time off to undergo major hip surgery after WrestleMania 33, and Angle would be a popular replacement.
The news could mean Angle competing at WrestleMania, but the card is stacked already and it'd be hard to find a place for the Olympic Hero. Kurt hasn't competed for WWE since 2006, and while he'd need to undergo a physical before being cleared, this news should delight his massive fanbase.
