Kurt Angle Says This Wrestling Faction Doesn't Get Enough Credit

WWE legend Kurt Angle has described this often-forgotten faction as "special".

Main Event Mafia
Impact Wrestling

Main. Event. Mafia.

Kurt Angle told listeners tuning into his podcast that the old TNA faction he formed with Sting, Kevin Nash, Booker T and Scott Steiner doesn't get nearly enough credit from industry critics or fans. In fact, according to Kurt, that needs to change.

He thinks more people need to go back through the old Impact Wrestling archives and learn to appreciate what MEM brought to the table. The group, which was exclusively comprised of former World Champions and top-tier players from WWE and WCW, remains a personal favourite chapter from Angle's storied career.

Kurt described it as "one of the best things [he] ever did" in wrestling.

In a cool moment, Angle also revealed that he never put himself forward to be the "Godfather" of the stable. It was actually members like Nash, Booker and Sting who thought he'd be the best fit for the role. That flattered the Olympian, because it showed that he had the ultimate respect of his peers.

That's something he'll never forget, and it's partly why he'll always cherish those Mafia days. Now, Angle just wants fans to feel the same.
