Kylie Rae Signs With The NWA Following IMPACT Wrestling Release
Former AEW wrestler Kylie Rae joins the NWA after IMPACT Wrestling agreement.
Kylie Rae debuted for the National Wrestling Alliance at When Our Shadows Fall on Sunday, teaming with Taryn Terrell to defeat Melina and Thunder Rosa.
It was announced during the broadcast that Rae had signed with the NWA. This was a surprise, given that Rae stayed under IMPACT Wrestling contract after missing the Bound for Glory pay-per-view in October 2020 and subsequently retiring from professional wrestling, but IMPACT and the NWA worked it out.
Per PWInsider's Mike Johnson, the two promotions spent a couple of weeks forging an agreement that would allow Rae to be released from IMPACT, freeing her up to sign with the NWA. This was concluded sometime within the past 4-5 days.
Adding to this, Fightful Select have reported that people within IMPACT were surprised by Rae joining the NWA. They hadn't heard of the agreement prior to the announcement, though there is no ill will towards Kylie from the people the outlet spoke to, with sources happy she is doing well.
Rae had been part of the AEW roster in early 2019, though she was let go later that year, with Tony Khan claiming an amicable split during his post-All Out media scrum.
