Though it looked like no more than WWE's latest dip into Vince Russo's WCW 2000 playbook, Lacey Evans' pregnancy announcement on last night's episode of Raw was legitimate. Evans is expecting a child with husband Alfonso.

Evans was supposed to team with Peyton Royce against Charlotte Flair and Asuka on last night's show. She cut a promo before the bout, goading Charlotte through her ongoing romance storyline with The Queen's father, Ric, then refused to tag in throughout the match. Afterwards, Evans revealed she was pregnant - suggesting Ric was the father as 'The Nature Boy' yelled "come to daddy!".

Wrestling Inc.'s Raj Giri confirmed Evans' pregnancy was real shortly after the show.

WWE has uploaded the following in-character clip of Lacey, who says she is "very happy" after breaking the news:-

Obviously, this means Asuka and Lacey's Raw Women's Title clash is now off the Elimination Chamber 2021 card. It remains to be seen whether or not WWE will announce a replacement for Evans ahead of this Sunday's pay-per-view or cancel Asuka's defence outright.

Lacey and Alfonso already have a daughter named Summer together. Congratulations to them and their growing family.
