Lana Asks Shane McMahon For WWE Women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match Spot
A new addition for June 18th's historic bout?
WWE SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon announced the first ever women's Money In The Bank ladder match earlier this week. Charlotte, Tamina, Becky Lynch, Natalya, and Carmella will fight for the briefcase on the June 18th pay-per-view, leaving a match that has traditional featured six-to-eight wrestlers with just five participants.
That number could soon be bolstered, however. Lana has yet to appear on SmackDown since joining the brand in the Superstar Shake-Up, but she's now angling for an opportunity, having tweeted McMahon earlier this week:-
Though WWE love to promote SD as "the land of opportunity," joining the match would be a huge leap for 'The Ravishing Russian.' She has been competing on the NXT house show circuit lately, but her sole televised match came over a year ago, when she played a minimal role in a 10-woman tag match at WrestleMania 32.
Regardless, the historic bout is a tad shorthanded in its current form, and could definitely benefit from an addition. Lana's SmackDown debut has been steadily hyped through a series of short vignettes lately, and while her inexperience makes her a hard sell as a potential winner, there's no reason she can't fill a spot.
