Last-Minute Changes Made To AEW Dynamite
Tony Khan confirmed last-minute AEW Dynamite changes before showtime.
AEW was forced to make several late changes to last night's episode of Dynamite.
Company founder, booker, and CEO Tony Khan confirmed as much prior to the show, citing illness and travel issues as the reasons.
Khan posted on X prior to Dynamite hitting the airwaves:
Due to minor illnesses to big talent traveling this week, + Hurricane Idalia affecting flights, I've changed some plans for #AEWDynamite TONIGHT! Coming off All In, @AEW 's greatest night + the most tickets sold for any wrestling show ever, expect a great Dynamite TONIGHT on TBS!
International Champion Orange Cassidy vs. Penta El Zero Miedo was the only Dynamite match announced until a few hours before the broadcast. Cassidy ended up winning and retaining his belt, meaning he advances to face Jon Moxley at All Out 2023 this Sunday (3 September).
Moxley was placed into a one-on-one clash with Komander on Dynamite. Elsewhere, Khan booked Kris Statlander, Dr. Britt Baker, DMD, and Hikaru Shida to face Emi Sakura, Nyla Rose, and Marina Shafir, plus NJPW STRONG Openweight Champion Eddie Kingston vs. Wheeler Yuta in another pay-per-view warm-up match.
Last night's Dynamite took place in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
