Latest On Brock Lesnar’s Future Post-SummerSlam (WWE News)

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that Brock Lesnar likely won't retire following his Hell In A Cell match vs. Oba Femi at SummerSlam this weekend. That PLE had been circled as a possible end date for Lesnar's career due to it taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but it now looks as though 'The Beast' will simply take a breather from WWE instead.

Backstage sources told the website that there's a decent chance Brock will step aside from television following SummerSlam and probably return in and around WrestleMania 43 season. That makes sense. WWE's creative team will want to load up on hefty star power for 'Mania next year, because it's the first in Saudi Arabia.

Bringing Lesnar back for the 'Road To WrestleMania' and hyping up his next mega-match sounds like a plan.

There's an interesting aside though: WrestleVotes/Fightful also noted that Brock is known to be someone who knowingly operates "in a way that prevents his plans from leaking". So, if he is going to call it a career after all, then that's certainly not something that's widely known behind the scenes at WWE/TKO.

The whole thing is fascinating.

Fans were confused when Lesnar left his boots in the ring during a teary farewell at 'Mania 42 earlier this year, but he then returned at Clash In Italy to even the score at 1-1 vs. Oba. SummerSlam's HIAC encounter is the blow off to their feud - if Brock is taking time off afterwards, then logic dictates that Femi will be taking the win.

Or...will he? Only time will tell, but Lesnar is expected to be benched post-Minneapolis.
