Standing on opposite sides of North American wrestling's promotional divide hasn't hurt the relationship between Cody Rhodes and The Elite.

Fightful caught Rhodes at the red carpet event for his WWE documentary, American Nightmare: Becoming Cody Rhodes, in Sandy Springs, Georgia on Tuesday. When asked about The Young Bucks, Rhodes confirmed, without hesitation, that he still talks to Matt and Nick Jackson on a fairly regular basis.

The WWE star stated that his documentary may not have happened had the Bucks not consented to the use of footage from Being The Elite, their YouTube series.

Cody added that he is bonded to the Bucks and Kenny Omega for life on account of what they did together, even if he never shares a ring with them again.

Rhodes, Omega, and the Bucks comprised AEW's original group of Executive Vice Presidents, facilitating AEW's launch under Tony Khan in early 2019, with each becoming a vital onscreen player at the same time. But while Omega and the Bucks remain with AEW (albeit on expiring contracts), Cody left the promotion to return to WWE in March 2022, immediately becoming one of the promotion's top babyfaces.
