Former NXT Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush has revealed on his Instagram an email he sent to a WWE official in November 2018.

Throughout the message, Rush can be seen talking about how - as a newer performer - he was expected to buy drinks and carry the bags of older WWE stars as a gesture of respect.

One particular star - whose name was kept hidden in the email - repeatedly spoke to Rush about how his refusal to perform these acts had led to people backstage talking negatively about him.

Eventually, Rush's wife was even accused of entering the women's locker room before a show in Bologna, despite the WWE star claiming that himself and his wife both waited in the stands before the show for four hours.

Rush also mentioned in the email how he had no problem performing acts that were seen as part of his duties - for example, breaking down rings in NXT - but he felt that no one should have to serve anyone else in the company. He felt very strongly about this, 'being a young African American male' and he added that 'I find these demands to be racially insensitive.'

These revelations finally shed some light on the supposed backstage heat Rush was getting around the start of 2019. However, it's clear that Rush was simply standing up for what he felt was right and this clearly rubbed certain WWE personalities up the wrong way.

His full email can be found on his Instagram.
