Luke Gallows And Karl Anderson Likely Didn't Ask For WWE Release

The timing of the pair's revival of their 'Talkin' Shop' podcast was probably just a coincidence.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer believes that Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson's contracts were too big to want to be released from, with the pair raking in a rumoured $750k a year...each!

However, fans on social media have been heavily speculating that the former O.C. members may have actually requested their release before their departure from WWE this week. This comes after the pair recently rebooted their 'Talk'n Shop' podcast with co-host Rocky Romero.

Romero is currently non-exclusively signed to NJPW and the podcast itself wasn't connected to the pair's WWE presentation.

With the duo choosing to openly pursue this outside interest, does this mean that the team were angling for a move in the first place?

Well, with Tyler Breeze recently being given permission to run a wrestling school with AEW's Shawn Spears and forming one part of a three person Twitch team with Baron Corbin known as 'The Sweetz', it looks as though the company may have just relaxed their stance on outside collaboration.

Therefore, combined with Meltzer's comments on the lucrative deals the pair were signed to, it appears unlikely that the former Raw Tag Team Champions actually requested their release from WWE on April 15, 2020.
