WWE teased an AJ Styles heel turn on last night's episode of Raw, though the former World Champion was beaten down by The Judgment Day after getting into it with partner Rey Mysterio.

Styles and Mysterio teamed up to face The Judgment Day's Finn Balor and Damian Priest on the show. The bout's primary purpose was to continue the Dominik Mysterio storyline following his recent assimilation into Judgment Day - and his presence proved critical. Dom distracting his father allowed Rhea Ripley to wipe Rey out, which fed into Style being pinned following Balor's Coupe de Grace when there was nobody ready for him to tag.

This wound AJ up. Blaming the defeat on Rey, he shoved the legend to the deck, even after Mysterio had attmpted to apologise.

The Judgment Day then clobbered Styles from behind, beating him down to close the segment. Balor and co. have been attempting to recruit Finn's former ally into the stable in recent weeks, doing so in a similar fashion to their successful indoctrination of Dominik.

This expensive feud continues at Extreme Rules 2022 (8 October), where Balor faces Rey's Clash At The Castle partner, Edge, in an "I Quit" match.
