Major Title Change On AEW Dynamite!

Britt Baker and Jon Moxley both put gold on the line at Fyter Fest, but only one left with it...

Lance Archer is your new IWGP United States Champion, having defeated Jon Moxley on last night's Fyter Fest special episode of AEW Dynamite.

A brutal, bloody fight played out under Texas Death Match rules, which dictate that the bout can only end via knockout or submission. Steel chairs, a fork, and a kendo stick were all brought into a wild brawl that had both men busted open before Mox was eventually hoisted from his own petard.

Driven through a couple of barbed wire boards placed on tables that the champion himself had set up, an entangled and bloodied Moxley was unable to answer the decisive 10-count. Thus, Archer was declared the new IWGP United States Champion in his home state.

Moxley had held the belt for 18 months since defeating Archer to take it in another Texas Death Match at Wrestle Kingdom 14 in January 2020. Though he dropped an NJPW title, this was only Jon's second AEW singles loss of the year.

Dynamite's other title fight saw Britt Baker mount a successful defence against Nyla Rose, who was forced to tap out to the doctor's Lockjaw finisher.
