Major Title Change On WWE Raw

Last night's WWE Raw yielded one big title change...

After going more than three months with no WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, we've now had two championship teams in a two-week span.

Damage CTRL's IYO SKY and Dakota Kai are the new champs after dethroning Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah on Raw Monday night, ending their reign at just two weeks. The unlikely duo had won the titles in a tournament where they faced Damage CTRL in the finals. However, Aliyah pinned Kai, who was not legal in the match, prompting this rematch.

The outcome was not really in doubt considering the storyline: SKY, Kai and Bayley are the dominant heel faction that is still getting its collective feet under themselves, and Raquel & Aliyah were an odd couple that seemed more of a Cinderella story than anything else.

But Damage CTRL were the heavy favorites in the tournament itself, so it shouldn't have been a surprise they won here. If anything, the surprise is that the tag titles detoured for two weeks, other than to give the former champs a really nice moment and delay the dream a bit.

And now Bayley can turn her attention to the other hardware on Raw, the Raw Women's Championship.
