Major Update On Bayley's WWE SummerSlam 2022 Status
The Role Model has been out of action for a year due to a torn ACL.
With wrestling fans eagerly awaiting the return to action of Bayley, it looks as if the Role Model could be back in the WWE fold by the end of this month.
As per PWInsider, Bayley is currently scheduled to be in Nashville, Tennessee for SummerSlam weekend. This year's iteration of WWE's annual Biggest Show of the Summer takes place a little earlier than normal, with SummerSlam set for Saturday 30 July.
What role the one-time Hugger will have to play over SummerSlam weekend remains to be seen, but she's seemingly set to be in Nashville to do something across that weekend.
Bayley has been out of action for over a year by this point in time, with her suffering a torn ACL last July during the mandatory training sessions WWE put on at the Performance Center ahead of the promotion returning to live touring following the Thunderdome Era. In terms of her last match, Bayley was last in action on the 25 June '21 episode of SmackDown - where she and Seth Rollins lost to Bianca Belair and Cesaro.
Prior to her spell on the sidelines, Bayley was embroiled in a rivalry with Belair for the SmackDown Women's Title then held by the EST. Whilst Bianca is nowadays the Raw Women's Champion, it could be that this rivalry will be reignited as and when Bayley returns to our screens. Likewise, the Grand Slam Champion could well set her sights on the blue brand's top women's prize currently held by Liv Morgan.
Regardless, it looks as if Bayley is finally set to return to the ring, which is fantastic to hear.
As for SummerSlam itself, right now the card for this upcoming premium live event reads as follows:
- Happy Corbin vs. Pat McAfee
- United States Champion Bobby Lashley vs. Theory
- Undisputed Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Street Profits, with Jeff Jarrett as the Special Guest Referee
- SmackDown Women's Champion Liv Morgan vs. Ronda Rousey
- Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing Match
