Major Update On Vince McMahon's WWE WrestleMania 38 Role
Will Vince McMahon end up wrestling at WrestleMania 38 after all?
Vince McMahon's name might not be on the WrestleMania 38 card yet, but the WWE Chairman and CEO is still expected to play a big role in the ongoing storyline between Pat McAfee and Austin Theory.
This is according to Dave Meltzer. Speaking on a recent episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, he said that McMahon is still part of the story, despite McAfee vs. Austin, not McAfee vs. Vince, being announced for 'Mania 38's second night (Sunday 3 April).
Meltzer added that Vince is "the key to the match" and its main draw. His involvement could be taking Theory's side to make it a handicap bout, cornering Austin against McAfee, or something else entirely.
News of McMahon potentially wrestling at 'Mania broke a few weeks ago, with the 76-year-old immediately linked to a clash with McAfee. WWE appeared to be on the verge of setting this up when Vince appeared on The Pat McAfee Show last week, though all that came of his appearance was the Chairman offering the former NFL punter a 'Mania match, which McAfee accepted.
Later, McAfee vs. Theory was confirmed. Austin's long-running mentorship storyline with Vince at least keeps the boss in its sphere, though.
