Mansoor Joins WWE Raw Roster, Wrestles Sheamus
Saudi-born up-and-comer makes the leap from WWE 205 Live and Main Event to Raw.
Mansoor joined the WWE Raw roster on last night's show, wrestling United States Champion Sheamus in his first match on the red brand.
Authority figure Adam Pearce introduced Mansoor in a backstage segment that saw the Saudi Arabian wrestler ceremonially sign his Raw contract on air. This was interrupted by Sheamus, who invited the 25-year-old to accept his open challenge for a match later on in the show.
That bout barely got past the four-minute mark before Humberto Carrillo ran in, attacking Sheamus to hand Mansoor a DQ loss. The US Champion had attacked Carrillo earlier in the show, continuing their ongoing feud, but both potential title challengers were laid out by Sheamus to close the segment.
Mansoor has been with WWE since 2018. He is best known for his roles on the company's Saudi Arabian pay-per-views, starting with his victory in a 50-person battle royal back at Super ShowDown 2019. Mansoor then defeated Cesaro in a well-received Crown Jewel 2019 match, before beating Dolph Ziggler at Super ShowDown 2020.
Prior to last night, Mansoor had been working exclusively on 205 Live and Main Event throughout 2020 and 2021.
