All Elite Wrestling regular Matt Sydal has officially signed with the promotion.

This was announced the usual way, with AEW tweeting Sydal's graphic out on Tuesday afternoon:-

This shouldn't come as a huge surprise, given the regularity with which the former Evan Bourne has been used since debuting in All Out's Casino Battle Royale. Barely a week has passed without the high-flying veteran appearing on either Dark or Dynamite. His most recent bout was a loss to Brian Cage on last week's Dynamite, though his singles record currently sits at a healthy 5-3, with his only defeats coming to pushed commodities in Cage, Shawn Spears, and Eddie Kingston.

The 37-year-old also recently competed in Ring of Honor's Pure Title Tournament, losing to eventual winner Jonathan Gresham at the quarter-final stage.

There's currently no word on how long Sydal has signed for. He was one of the most tenured and experienced performers left on the market, having wrestled for promotions as diverse as ROH, NJPW, EVOLVE, Impact Wrestling, PWG, and Dragongate. A wrestler since 2000, recent appearances have seen Sydal adopt a more technical in-ring approach on Dark, so it'll be interesting to see how he progresses.
