Mauro Ranallo will be in the IMPACT Wrestling announce booth for the blockbuster Kenny Omega vs. Rich Swann match on 25 April.

ESPN's Marc Raimondi broke the news on Thursday, confirming that Ranallo will call the action as Swann and Omega wrestle on the Rebellion pay-per-view. Both Swann's IMPACT World Title and Omega's AEW strap will be on the line.

Swann vs. Omega will be the first time Ranallo has called a professional wrestling match since departing WWE last August. He has since moved back into commentating on mixed martial arts and boxing for Bellator and Showtime respectively.

Per PWInsider, Ranallo's IMPACT deal is currently a one-off deal for this match and this match alone. The outlet notes that the two parties had been working on putting the deal together over the past few weeks, with Ranallo already visiting the promotion's studios to do some voiceover work for Swann vs. Omega hype packages.

Mauro had been with WWE from 2015 to 2020. Hugely popular amongst the fanbase, he was moved from SmackDown to NXT in spring 2017 following an alleged incident with JBL, though Ranallo himself denied this.
