Last night's AEW Dynamite saw a surprise appearance from veteran badass Mercedes Martinez - with Tony Khan later confirming that Martinez has officially signed with the company.

Mercedes shockingly made her presence known during the Jade Cargill vs. Thunder Rosa match which served as the semi-finals of the ongoing TBS Title tournament. There, a masked figure helped Cargill pick up the W, with said figure then revealing themselves post-match to be Mercedes Martinez.

This win sets up Cargill to face Ruby Soho on next week's Dynamite to crown the inaugural TBS Champion - while Rosa will seemingly be inserted into a rivalry with Martinez.

Of course, this isn't the first time Mercedes has appeared for AEW, for she competed under the All Elite banner several times in 2019. Shortly after that, she would sign with WWE and spend two years in NXT - bar an uber-brief spell in RETRIBUTION - before being released by Vince McMahon's sports entertainment behemoth this past August.

Since departing WWE, Martinez has been a part of IMPACT Wrestling since October. Now though, Mercedes is formally #AllElite - as confirmed by Tony Khan himself.
