Michael Cole Wanted To Wrestle THIS Former WWE Star

An ex-WWE wrestler claims he almost had a match vs. Michael Cole on PLE.

Former WWE man Top Dolla has claimed that both he and Michael Cole campaigned for a PLE match against one another before the ex-Hit Row member was released in late-September.

Dolla told fans on Twitter/X (he actually called them "idiots" and "too dense to catch on") that his whole beef with Cole was a work. The long-serving WWE announcer repeatedly needled Top Dolla during his matches and segments on SmackDown, but that almost led to something physical on-screen.

Apparently, Triple H or some other WWE higher-up wasn't particularly interested in seeing Dolla vs. Cole on a major pay-per-view. He/they probably can't be blamed for that! Top Dolla wanted to see it happen though, and says the pair even planned out how the bout would transpire.

Dolla vs. Cole was going to see the Hit Row member "throw around" Michael for approx five minutes. Then, somebody would get involved to help the play-by-play man and Cole would win with a small package. Pat McAfee was in the mix to be Michael's ringside help.

WWE clearly didn't fancy any of this. Top Dolla's second stint in the company was a miserable failure.
