WWE legend Mickie James has roasted the company for sending Dana Brooke "back" to NXT. She told listeners tuning into Busted Open Radio that Dana going down to the third brand was the "wrong choice" from management.

James doesn't think Brooke matches up to "workhorses" like Seth Rollins or Natalya who have dropped by NXT in the past. In fact, she reckons Dana's in-ring style isn't suited to the third show at all; that's interesting, because Brooke was taught the "WWE style system" (Mickie's words) in the first place, and worked on NXT for approx three years before moving up to the main roster in 2016.

Since then, she's on and off struggled to properly get going as a standalone talent. James believes that's part of the problem, and why the NXT call was a bad one. However, she also admitted she "loves Dana" and thinks her old peer is "a fabulous person who has tried really, really hard, in the last couple of years especially, to be more respected for her in-ring work and for her ability".

Mickie just isn't sure Brooke has worked enough storylines fans "cared about" for this NXT jump to mean anything.
