Boxing great Mike Tyson is returning to AEW; rumours say it isn't a one off.

Mike Tyson is returning to AEW...as a commentator.

It's true. The promotion announced that Tyson is joining the announce team for next week's live episode of Rampage - this marks Mike's first appearance for All Elite since April 2021. He worked a few dates for the company between 2020-2021, including as a "special guest enforcer".

PWInsider Elite reports that Tony Khan only struck a deal with Tyson a few short days before his Rampage gig was confirmed. The site's sources also tell them that Mike could work more dates for AEW in the future. Nothing is concrete right now in terms of this being a one off "special guest commentary" spot.

It'll be interesting to see who AEW puts with Tyson on commentary. Rampage's usual team is Excalibur, Jim Ross and Tony Schiavone, but they've only recently settled on that. Previously, the likes of Taz, Chris Jericho, Mark Henry and even Ricky Starks had shown up as announcers on the 'B' show.

Don't be too shocked if Tyson's commentary role leads to something more. Bringing him in just to lay down a soundtrack would be pretty random.
