Missing AEW Star Backstage At Dynamite This Week

One of AEW's most notable absentees was in El Paso, TX for Dynamite on Wednesday.

Thunder Rosa was backstage at this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, reports PWInsider's Mike Johnson.

This shouldn't register as a huge surprise, given Dynamite took place in El Paso, Texas, and Rosa's adoptive hometown is across the state in San Antonio. Regardless, there is currently no word on whether or not her appearance was more than just a simple visit - or if she is nearing a return to company television.

Rosa has been away since August 2022, when she announced she was unable to defend the AEW Women's World Championship due to injury. An Interim strap was created shortly afterwards, with Toni Storm taking it before eventually dropping the title to Jamie Hayter, who soon had the "Interim" dropped as AEW recognised her as the fully lineal Women's World Champion.

In December, Rosa commented that although she has been lifting weights and running, she was yet to return to in-ring training. She last wrestled on the 10 August 2022 Dark: Elevation tapings, teaming with Storm and Hikaru Shida to defeat Emi Sakura, Marina Shafir, and Nyla Rose.

Thunder Rosa was Women's World Champion for 172 days, having taken the belt from Britt Baker in March 2022.
