WWE has moved to announce the date and first inductee for the 2021Hall of Fame.

This year’s Hall of Fame ceremony will take place on 6 April – the Tuesday before WrestleMania 37 – and will see both the 2020 and 2021 classes inducted.

As for the first inductee of the 2021 class, an emotional Shane Helms broke the news on The Bump that the hugely deserving Molly Holly is the first name announced for this year’s Hall of Fame.

A two-time WWE Women’s Champion and one-time Hardcore Champion, the real-life Nora Greenwald is someone forever praised by her fellow pros and many fans, with her viewed as way ahead of her time when it came to in-ring ability and a mind for the business.

Greenwald began her wrestling training under Dean Malenko in 1997, and she’d debut in WCW as Miss Madness two years later. Despite being only 22 years of age that time, the Minnesota native was tasked with training the WCW female talent of the day.

The then-WWF signed Greenwald in 2000, debuting her on the 6 November ’00 episode of Raw under the moniker of Molly Holly – the kayfabe cousin of Hardcore and Crash. Where Shane Helms comes into this, late-2001 saw Holly align herself with the Hurricane as Mighty Molly.

Molly Holly’s WWE departure came in April 2005, although she has made sporadic appearances for the company in the years since – most recently on this January’s Raw Legends Night.

Expect the rest of the 2021 Hall of Fame class to be revealed over the next several weeks. Where the 2020 class is concerned, that consists of Batista, Davey Boy Smith, Jushin Liger, Nikki and Brie Bella, JBL, and the nWo quartet of Hollywood Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott and Sean Waltman.
