Moose Set For New Japan Match Vs. Tomohiro Ishii
Moose steps through the Forbidden Door to face Tomohiro Ishii next weekend.
IMPACT Wrestling's Moose is the next to step through the Forbidden Door, as he takes on Tomohiro Ishii during New Japan Pro Wrestling's Resurgence event on 14 August.
'The Wrestling God' follows the Good Brothers and Josh Alexander as contracted IMPACT performers appearing on New Japan events (TJP has deals with both promotions). Most recently, the Good Brothers won the company's Tag Team Turbulence tournament, defeating ROH's Brody King and Chris Dickinson in the finals.
Moose and Ishii have collided just once before, with the latter winning their encounter at ROH and New Japan's co-promoted War Of The Worlds event in May 2016. Aside from that, Moose's only other connections have come via five other contests, all of which were joint efforts between those two companies while he was signed to Ring Of Honor.
Signing a new deal with IMPACT earlier this year, the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion most recently scored a win over Chris Sabin on last Thursday's IMPACT. Sabin had previously downed Moose at the Slammiversary pay-per-view in July.
Other IMPACT talent slated for the 14 August event are TJP and the Good Brothers. TJP will team with Ren Narita and Clark Connors in six-man tag team action, while Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson tangle with Jon Moxley and a partner to be determined.
